Thread: Experience and information wanted - Livingston MT to Driggs

I am a student pilot with a dream of flying to my condo located near Driggs, ID. I live near Minneapolis and I have done some studying of the sectionals. Anyone have experience on hopping over near Bozeman pass and then flying south via the Madison River to Driggs?

I will be headed to BZN this weekend where my CT is "summering" with my father. We were planning doing part of that trip this weekend - leaving early from BZN to West Yellowstone (WYS), some sightseeing in the Park, then out the north entrance at Gardner, up to Livingston and back to BZN. We are essentially doing part of that route and will let you know how it goes, but it should be a good route PROVIDED that the winds aloft are Ok. By that I mean less than 20 kt at ridge level - this seems to be the threshold for creating strong rotors. Remember that rotors will form but will not be visible with the high temp/dewpoint spread (i.e., no rotor cloud). More reading is recommended if you haven't already done so.

Diggs supposedly has a nice place for lunch.
