    Default Canadian Foothills

Quick pic of two flights this weekend through the Foothills as well as through the Rockies with a C-170 and PA-18.

About 40% power to keep up with the rest!!

    Default Excellent air-to-air pic

Very nice! How far from you was the photo plane? Did they take the pic with a 10X or better zoom lens? That seems to be a better idea than close formation flying.
BTW, does the pic show tape over about 2/3 of your coolant radiator? It looks that way, and I could understand it in your neck of the woods this time of year. How many strips is that, and what is the width of the tape. One strip of 1.5 inch metal tape over our radiator is barely sufficient here in WI at -8 C or about 18F. Are there any concerns about covering up that much of the radiator?

    I believe 10X lens.

We typically fly formation quite a bit including formation T/O and landings where I sit in the #:30 position as you can see in the picture.

The controllers love it. Only one radio call for both of us and they love watching it since I am glued to the wing of the C170.

On t/o typically <50% power and +15 where I start to fly when the C170 lifts its tail.

    Enjoy the pics.

    Oh yeah.

    Forgot.

The tape on the radiator is one strip across the front.

Interesting situation on Sunday when the ground temp was -3C and at 5500ft the air temp was +18C!!

The oil temp went to the top of the green during my climb.
