Default UK spec pedals bend is this a US problem

    Hi All
On to my third set of pedals. Seems the problem may be a UK only. The weight saving to get us under 450kg in UK spec included the pedals, and try as we might ... group members keep testing the rudder whilst stationery .... result P1 left and P2 right pedals bend !!
Talking to Chris at Barton .. he recons the easy fix is a set of US spec pedals and save the weight somewhere else.
Anyone in the US had a pedal bending problem ....?
    I need a liters dipstick !! any offers ??

No pedal problems with my 2007 CTSW at 80 hours. They seem to be sturdy.

    Default Pedal bending

I try never to use my pedals while at a stand still. I start a roll before doing that. Too much extra pressure on the pedals and front end just sitting. Just like your old car without power steering. When it was at a stand still you could hardly turn the wheel, but while moving it was easier. No use putting stress on a system if you don't need to.

    Default Pedals

Spoke to Oliver (UK CT importer) and it seems all the pedals are now the same.

I think I need to cancel the gym membership for a few of our hard of reading members ..... 'don't use the rudders when stationery' seems beyond them.

Got some great advice on our CT2K from Chris Coppel at Barton ......... SELL IT and buy an SW !!

Hi, I had my left left rudder pedal changed, because my engineer said it was bent and the weld had cracked, had new L L fixed with a stronger pedal, now 6 weeks later, right left rudder pedal bent and weld cracked whilst turning 180 degrees, has anyone else had this problem, my ctsw is a 2008?

    Hi Darren
I've been working and flying instead of foruming for a while .....but I do have a solution on the pedals. Actually 2 solutions.

One ...fill the pedal tube with hardening resin (builders' will do) to give the joint extra strength.

Drop the front suspension out of the tube and grease it !! Most of our problem was coming from a very dry front end. Enough to say we've had no pedal problems since I did both of these 'solutions'.

    Good luck.

    Is that 450kg emptyGW?

My 2008 CTLS weights in at 361.8kg?

Assuming they are comparable how did FD save 89kg between the original CT2K and the CTLS?
