Man, I love this plane...
My wife and I made an out-and-back jaunt today between Raleigh, NC and Pittsburgh, PA to meet some new friends for lunch. Talk about a $100 hamburger...
With the rain we've been getting on the east coast lately, everything was lush green - and flying over the Appalachian Mountains was beautiful. (Hope you west coast guys aren't snickering too much about the Appalachians.)
Unbelievable!

PA trip
wlfpckrs,
I'm glad that you enjoyed your trip up into my part of the country. Where did you fly into and did you keep ahead of the band of thunderstorms that moved through in the afternoon. I'm waiting on my LS and one of my first trips will be down your way to First Flight. It would be great to meet up with you sometime.

Because of the threat of storms and the possibility of low clouds, we used waypoints of Cumberland, MD (CBE) and Seven Springs (7SP) enroute to our ultimate destination, Greensburg-Jeannette. There were no storms on the trip North, but we had to dodge a few on the way back.
As it turned out, the clouds were above 5,000 feet, so we were able to fly straight back from near Seven Springs, which took us over a little higher terrain, but it turned out to be an almost clear corridor with storms on either side of us from time to time.
I've been to First Flight. It's pretty neat to fly into the birthplace of aviation. We do fly down to the Outer Banks from time to time.

I was flying back from Moab, UT on Tuesday, and took this picture to show how nice and green it's getting in Idaho. Note the snow plume going up into the air from the wind.

Thanks for the pics Jos.....my wife and I visited there at the end of May 2005 and it brought back some great memories, although there was nowhere near as much snow. Amazing what a difference a month makes.

I've got a bad habit of forgetting to take my camera on trips.
