Hi, everybody - does anybody know a place/CFI to get a demo flight or training in a CTLS in Western Washington/Seattle area?
Thanks in advance,
Alex.

Hi Alex,
I think the guys at Flight Design West (Lone Mountain Aviation), have a LS in Portland. They might be willing to come up to Seattle and give you a demo. Here is a link to them.

Alex,
Have already sent Kenny, the owner of Lone Mountain a copy of your post. I'm sure they will be in contact soon to help you out.
If you want to "talk CT", I'll be in Puwallup tomorrow. If you'll be there let me know and I'll give you my cell.

Thanks, guys, for all the info!
At this time I'm just researching the market with plans to buy probably next year. I'm a 6'3" and I'm trying to select a reliable safe LSA with a good fit, range, useful load and equipment for extended cross-country cruises. CT is is on a short list of plausible candidates here - but unfortunately nowhere to be found in local LSA flight schools. Strangely, SW seems to quote in its specs even better useful load than LS - and there're apparently some used low-hours SWs on the market now that seem to offer a very good value.
I'll try to to talk to guys in Portland and see if I can drive down there from Seattle for some demo flights.
Thanks again for all your help! Congratulations to Roger on creating an active an thriving online CT community!
Alex.
I don't have a headroom problem in my CT and I am 6'-2". However, if you do, you might look at the MC. Since it has struts, and therefore no carry through spar in the cabin roof, I suspect it has lots of headroom. Plus, it is wider than the CT. Having said all of that, understand that I have never seen a MC except in pictures. Nor have I talked to anyone who has seen, sat in, or flown it.

Alex,
I'm sure Chris would fly up. I certainly would be happy two sometime late spring early summer.
I've seen the MC. Little more room and Fly's great.

Yep, that spar is what I'm curious about. I had a chance to take a demo flight in another German LSA (GX) - and with the seat all the way back for me my head was underneath protruding spar, so I couldn't turn my head at all being wedged between the seat and the spar.Plus a wider control panel between seats seemed to eat up all the gain in the width leaving uncomfortably narrow well for feet and a feeling to be pressed against the door. On the contrast, surprisingly, seating in a narrow cockpit of a Sierra was comfortable for me on all counts... Glad to hear that at 6'2" you don't have a problem - I hope there's more than inch is still left for me there.
I'm thinking that tall guys could be made on average more comfortable in low winger - but my concern there is with safety of some bubble canopies in turnover accidents... (forward opening, no rolll bars etc.)
Thanks, Roger!
I still have some trainig to do before I consider a purchase, so don't fly in a near future only on my account yet - but it seems WA appears to be severely "CT-challenged" and having one around I'm sure could generate plenty of excitement in a local LSA community and LSA-friendly flight schools. But if you do come to Seattle area - count me in for a flight or two
Thanks again,
Alex.
I'm 6'4" and 225lbs. No problem for me fitting in the LS. That's why I picked the FD due to it's cockpit size.
