It definately has.I thought the GX had struts???But there's some sort of a beam or something that lowers the headroom at the extreme back position of a seat.
6'2" here, at 240, with long legs.... fit into CTsw with room to spare. 'Tried most others and couldn't fit, or barely fit. Last Sept flight from Phoenix to E'burg was a real joy....
I know you'll enjoy your demo flight!

360+ hours of CT flying fun!
I'm not Tim but I'll answer. A pilot since 1965, I transitioned into LSA after flying and owning a string of certificated planes like Cessna 180, 182, 206; DHC-2, T-34, C-310, and Huey (Army) etc. I first looked at LSA at Airventure 2005 and pulled the trigger when I sold my C-182 early 2007. My flying had progressed to the point where I was mainly flying short distances with a max of one passenger. I researched a long list of LSA and narrowed it to 4 that I sought out and flew: CTSW, Technam Sierra and Bravo, and Sportcruiser (now Piper). I liked them all but picked CT for cockpit size, baggage capacity, BRS, fuel capacity (I lived 42 years in Alaska and determined early on you can never have too much fuel. Even though not as critical in the lower 48, I can't break the habit!) and the fact that they were selling the most indicating to me they would still be around when the dust settled. I am 6'-2" and 185# and fit them all but I did not want to be rubbing shoulders so the 49" cockpit width was important. FD West (not the same owners now) delivered the plane to my house and gave me 3 hours of transition over 2 days-short days as he arrived at noon on day one and I took him to PDX at about noon on day two. I also liked going to LSA because I don't need a medical anymore (I let it lapse) and I wanted to do my own work which I got trained to do. The CT has had excellent dealer support, is versital, and it hasn't given me any trouble since I got rid of the original brakes and replaced them with Matco.
Go get one - you'll like it.

Tim here... my story is pretty short... I'm 58... 'flew down the Baja with a couple of friends about 4 years ago - and I was hooked. I'd always been interested in flying, but that trip sealed the deal. I did my own ground schooling and started training in a 152. All the while, I was looking at airplanes and saw the CTsw at the 2006 Copperstate Fly-in (Casa Grande). I was smitten with the looks and the specs. I lurked on this forum for a few months and got lots of great info, and found the CT community was the best of the bunch. Just after soloing in the 152, a local CTsw with 22 hours went up for sale. I had planned to put together a partnership eventually and buy one, but I couldn't pass up the deal and bought it myself. I finished my training in the CTsw and got a Private license.
As luck would have it, it's turned out to be a great move. After about two years of ownership, I find that the looks and specs weren't THAT important... the company and community are more important in the long run. Having a "sports car" airplane is just icing on the cake...

Thanks, guys - I'd love to hear all the stories of introduction of CT in your training you can share!
Tim, I'm just in the beginning of your story - 53 and a friend got me interestedDid you local CFI have any experience with CT for you to finish your training? We do not have CTs in our local schools and hence it would be a problem to find a local CFI who has an experience with CT even if I brought one up...
Guys -
It's not a LS, but I may be moving to Seattle with my SW in a few months, then down to PDX a year later. Would be interested in connecting with CTers in the Northwest.
Doug
190 hours in the CT and have loved every one.
Doug,
You'll be right at home!!! There's five of us or so in Oregon. We have a great dealer here. AND thirty five miles from Portland sits the "little computer" that handles this forum!!
I also think there is no better place to fly then the Pacific Northwest... the views on a sunny day are spectacular and there's a ton of places to go!
Let me know when you arrive!
