Would it be permissable to change the oil (less filter) by pumping out the oil tank with big syringe, pump, siphon, ... This would not require removing any fitting.

Why would you want to change expensive oil without a filter ? but yes it is possible

Yesterday is history. Tommorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift that's why they call it the present.
I don't think you would be able to get the sediment out of the bottom of the tank.
if your not worried about sediment in the filter why worry about it in the tank ? i presume Paul is restricted so he cant do his own maintenance and wants to change oil himself at lower hour intervals and at reduced cost without dismantling any engine parts , i cant see any other reason for wanting to

There is a quickdrain fitting available for the oiltank that make changes a snap.
I've had it on my Ct2K (800hrs) for a few years now, and I no longer have the details handy.
it wasn't hard to find and certainly is convenient.
Curtis Superior Valve Co., Incorporated I don't know if it's approved.
As to the sediment, I am worried about it, in the filter and in the tank. My A&P cleaned the tank during my last annual and I was very surprised at the crud in it.
Jim,
Crud in the tank?? Is that from too much 100LL and full syn oil?

I run mogas and Mobil1 Racing 4T. The plane has burned a grand total of 8 gallons of 100LL and the tank had never been cleaned.
interesting, mogas and 4t here too but we have never found any sediment in the tank. for that matter the filters have always been quite clean as well.
It's that clean mountain air.
