    I wonder if crud in the tank is a good thing, meaning its not in the engine? WF

    Same as Charlie. 600+ hours. Maybe 15gals of 100LL Mobil4T. Oil filters and tank always excellent condition. Nothing running around that shouldn't be.

    I've not had any crud in my tank and my filter/mag plug is clean. Regardless, I'm not sure you could get all of the oil siphoned out. As for the quick drain, I understand FD will not approve it. Don't know why.
    I would forget the idea of trying to siphon the oil out. I recommend changing the oil and filter every 4 months or 50 hours whichever comes first. Rotax allows longer intervals but I am uncomfortable with that. It's cheap insurance and allows a look at the cut open oil filter.

    This is just my opinion and it is worth exactly what you paid for it. Penny wise and pound foolish to do otherwise.

    I was told by Rotax that they do not approve any quick drain fittings. I was going to put one on my plane until I found that out
