Anyone know why on the side of the individual NGK spark plug boxes there appears a caution sign, with an Airplane and a Slash through it?![]()

They are not for Lycoming, Continental or "typical" aircraft engines which use a different and more expensive plug. They are used in many types of engines and not specifically designed for aircraft engines. They are however the ones that Rotax operates with - Rotax choose them - NGK didn't make them exclusively for aircraft or Rotax. Hope that helps and makes some sense.
Aircraft crossed off or not they be the ones to use!

Be aware there are 2 different part #'s for the DCPR8E. Part # 4339 is the one you want, it has the removable terminal to fit The Rotax plug connector. Part # 4179 has a solid terminal and is not suitable.

NGK being a Japanese company wants ne liability for use of thier sparkplugs in an airplane. That it the reason for the little picture on the box. Tom
Are they usually gapped right out of the box?
NGK do iridium IX plugs that will fit the rotax 912/912s engines the part number is DCR7EIX which will give a better spark smoother idle/running and last longer there not cheap though ..not sure but USA regulation may be to restrictive to use them though

Yesterday is history. Tommorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift that's why they call it the present.
Why is the solid terminal job not suitable?.......................Please

My plug wires won't fit snugly on the plugs unless the terminal nut is removed. I assume all 912's are like that.
Right Tom, they'd probably fall through a Lycs SP hole anyway.
Yes all 912s are like that do not attempt to use plugs with the terminal nuts on you will most likely experience at least a partial if not total loss of power. There is a spec for the amount of pull needed to remove the plug connector from the plug.
