    Default Any electrical problems?

Am considering the purchase of a loaded CT. I understand that the 912 will generate about 12 amps safely. The aircraft I'm looking at has lots of gee whiz toys in the dash and I am concerned that the generator on the 912 will not be up to the task of supplying power. Has anyone had electric problems due to too high power demand? Replacing the stator is very expensive if it fails.

    Thanks, Bill

If it has all the standard goodies (Dynon, GPS, comm., ect,) you will be fine. The landing light on at low power settings is the only thing that will cause problems. It draws about 6 amps. Tom

Does the 912 installed in the CT have a seperate alternator or does the plane rely on the internal stator system in the 912?

    Default electrical

The 912 is internal. Rotax does have an external alternator add on, but it might not fit under the cowl.
