Tanis preheat system
Hi All,
I have 2 Tanis engine preheat systems to install this week and one in a couple more weeks. I will report back on install and I will try and get the owners to let us know how it works for them here on the forum. I talked to one of the company owners last week. Looks like a really worth while system for those of you that live in cold, shivering, frostbite country.
Here is a good article on preheat misconceptions.

Engine Pre-Heater
Hi Roger, I had Bob Basham install the Reiff Pre-Heat system in 89WD last fall. It worked perfectly last winter. Here in Afton it can get at cold as -40 (no kidding). I keep the hangar at +35 degrees when it that cold. I also use the Rotax approved battery charger and keep it on between flights during the winter. When I pull the aircraft out of my hangar at -25 degrees and fire it up, the engine temp is never under 60 degrees at start up, and heats up much faster, Its also much easier on my engine. I would recommend anyone that lives in cold country to have an engine pre-heater installed.

Cold Country
Hi Mike,
I didn't know there were that many numbers below 32F. (:
That's darn cold. If I moved there I would have to start drinking anti-freeze.

Beautiful
You guys have it easy when it comes to winter weather in AZ. I enjoy flying my wife to Mesquite, NV during February for some mid winter fun. I can say that Star Valley is one of the most beautiful places to fly summer or winter. The Husky crowd has accepted me well as...kinda "one of there own"... take off performance is really good when the DA is 10,000 feet here in the summer. This winter, my friend and I are taking 9WD to Jamaica to get away from it all. In Feb '08 flew down to the Bahamas for 2 weeks. Wanna go?? Afton to Mesquite, El Paso, Brownsville, Couzeml, Grand Cayman, Jamacia, Key West..then back home.

Tanis Engine preheat system
Hi All,
I have now done a couple of Tanis systems. Very nice indeed and works as advertised. If any one needs help on the purchase, questions about the system, installation help or would like to have it installed at my location just let me know and I'll be happy to help.
You cold country guys this would be a great addition to your aircraft.
Here is the link to the Rotax video on the evaluation of the system.
