When I took delivery of my plane I had to fly it from Western Canada to Eastern Canada. After one day of flight I parked it for the night and did not shut the fuel valve. The next morning there was a pool of fuel under the plane. That has been going on each tiime I forgot to shut the valve. At least one gallon would leak overnight I finally discovered that this fuel (which makes de cabin smell fuel in flight) comes from right under the air filter where there is a little plastic support that acts as a cup, and goes there from the air tube that runs from the port carburator to the air filter. Did anyone have that problem and a fix for it.
Yesterday after a one hour flight, I noticed much more black spots (oily) that went from the exhaust onto the floats. Nothing abnormal in the flight nor around the engine that I can notice. Is oil running out of the exhaust a sign of troubles to come ?
