    Default Float flying

There are a dozen CTSW on floats. I guess I have the only one in North America and few people to exchange experience. Some European float flyers might get on this forum and willing to exchange viewsé Lets see if this gets any reply in English, Spanish or French. The float center line is one foot narrower than wheels center lines and landing is usually tricky. Floats on all other planes seem so much wider and landing on Cessna on floats is a breeze Landing a CT is always a challenge

I finally managed to get my CT by my house. Still have to work on a better system to get it out of the water on a rocky shore. My rotax pulls 4800 rpm on take off and 5150 at level flight. I am very happy with that. Good take off from water and land and good cruising speed (112kts) I do not need to go faster. Would I gain anaything tuning he propeller to get 5800 and is it true that the rotax will wear down faster if I use it most of the time at 4800 rpm

I am curious how you do the pre-flight with floats. Dont you have a lot of trouble with the cam-locks when opening the cowl for the pre-flight of the engine? How do you handle that?

After flying I pull the plane on land using a home made trailer so I have easy access to everything. In the water it is nearly impossible to go through the whole preflight check list
