wasn't me, i would have come if i had known.
i recently got a plb, they are getting cheaper. got this one
seen it really cheap somewhere.
give us a tidbit or two ( what you learned )
The Seminar was in two parts, the first, (before lunch) covered the stuff you should have with you. The second part was (after lunch) about what to do if you go down.
1. You should have basic survival gear on you while flying, a vest that you put on while flying is the best method. It is not always possible to get to the bigger survival kit that may be stored in the luggage compartment.
2. A PLB is definitely good to have, it should be with you, not in the luggage compartment. Don't count on the PLB getting you rescued immediately, if night fall is close or if the weather is bad it may take awhile to get to you.
3. Always have warm clothes with you, especially if you fly over the mountains, (that would be you Ed).
4. Don't wear nylon or other type clothing that can melt into your skin, wear cotton wool or some type of fire resistant clothing.
5. He covered what kind of equipment is the best and what is no longer the way to go, (I need to redo my survival kit).
The seminar was well worth attending and could save a life someday.
