Default Dollar at a 4 year high vs Euro

Hmmmm, when I bought my CTSW in 2006 the price seemed pretty reasonable. Since then The Dollar lost value vs the Euro and Flight Design products became more expensive in the US.

Now we are back to the (my) beginning and the Euro is tanking.

What is happening with Flight Design prices? What will happen?

    Ed,

My guess is that you could take advantage of the higher dollar by ordering a new CT. The question is whether the dealers and distributors will reduce prices to match, in order to sell existing inventory, which they had paid out more $ for when the Euro was higher. That's the problem with currency exchange fluctuations.

I asked this exact question to a dealer last week and the response was "... the better exchange rate will prevent a price increase in the near future however there are no opportunities for a price drop. Also, much of the CT is now sourced in the US, and finances are structured to prevent US price changes every time the euro exchange rate changes."

I guess what they are saying is FD is using financial derivatives to stabilize the price in the US. I'd rather see the price fluctuate with the Euro at a four year low! What are the other LSA European manufacturers doing with their prices? If they are dropping it might put pressure on FD to drop.
