Default New BRS Parachute Bulletin Aug 29, 2007

Check out the NEW BRS bulletin.... affecting nearly ALL existing USA CTs. Only those with a the new handle design are exempted.

It concerns the deployment handle, and incorrect assembly/mounting that may cause the inability to fire the parachute.

The problem was apparently found when someone tried to deploy their 'chute. It didn't deploy, but they landed safely anyway. I hope we get a chance to hear from these folks

    Default BRS

Thanks Tim for posting this. I'll check mine tomorrow. At least it's an easy check and fix.

    Default BSR handle problem...

You all should haven't gottet a letter from headquarters! It's also posted on the www.flightdesignusa.com web site.

    Default No Letter

    Hi Roger h,

No letter, but I printed it out. Should be very easy to take care off if it's a problem.

I emailed BRS last week to inquire about the SB 07-05 bulletin as I had not received any info. I registered ownership with them last January as the original owner. I heard aboutthis bulletin from my mechanic a week ago when we were arranging for the annual. I did not know about the new on the handle until I read about it above. It has been three days and BRS has not responded to my email. I understand it is the owner/operators responsibility to properly maintain the equipment but one would think that BRS could do a little better job with communications, there is AOPA, EAA, etc that could be a source of notification too.

    Default Notification

    Hi Tom,

First go to FD's web site and get their email address and send them your complete info on you, your address, phone number, email address, your plane's serial number and tail number.

Then go to the R.O.A.N. site for Rotax and sign up with them. This will take care of your plane and engine notifications with automatic email notifications sent right to you.

Check the FD website once a week or this website and it will always be posted by FD or someone on this forum.

    Roger,

I did that last January, Both FD and Rotax. Todate, other than receipt of those emails, I have not heard a word from either one. I watch this site on a monthly basis - more or less. Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I should recontact them and let them know I have not been receiving anything....

    Tom
