Default Getting rid of the rust

First some background. I had 30 solo landings when I had an "OOPS" very similar to W7UY. It will be 6+ months since the incident with no flight time (PA weather was not accommodating).

Would like an indicaton of how long it will take to overcome my (fill in some descriptor) about the length of time required to get rid of the rust.

Just take it one day at a time....DO NOT rush yourself. Use your instructor, repeat, repeat, repeat.

    Hi Paul,

Like WD said, don't rush or force yourself. Your biggest factor will be to push the past out of your head and focus on the present task at hand. Do some upper airwork first, some slow flight and some power off descents to stalls with 15 and 30 flap. When you go back to the pattern do some low approaches keeping power (2600-3000rpm) thru the level off. Don't worry so much about touching the ground but leveling at the right altitude and keeping it straight, after a few you will find yourself touching the ground and getting back in the saddle.

Good luck, and learn from the past but don't dwell on it!

What was your OOPS? Just curious and would like to learn from others bad experience.

    Thx,
    James

Had the left wheel (complete)depart with a crosswind landing. Check CT mishaps and the W7UY thread.
