    Default lets do some stalls

if we go out and do some stalls with different flap settings and note our indicated speeds at stall at various flap settings we should be able to see if there is a lot of variation on airspeed indicators.

keep your ball centered to avoid a stall/spin entry. since a ct likes to mush stall you might have to pitch up high enough to recognize the stall entry.

if there is a lot of variance we should probably think in terms of different approach speeds for different cts based on the results of stall speeds. iow 1.3 x ias @ stall might be a way of confirming you are at a safe speed, and not to fast. we could call the resulting approach speed Vgoldilocks, not too fast and not too slow but just right.

Did that last week. For 0-15-30, the numbers were between 38 and 40 and the Dynon closely agreed with the steam gauges. Quite awhile ago, an instructor and I were able to fly straight and level 2 feet above the runway with I think 15 flaps at 35 knots indicated. It's also interesting to land with a check pilot calling your airspeed.

Not that such a thing is legal, [s]has anyone spun a CT [/s]does anyone know how the CT spins? Been stalling / spinning the glider a lot getting ready for my check ride, and it's a real hoot, particularly with 10kg of ballast bolted to the tail.

190 hours in the CT and have loved every one.

As my BFR guy pointed out, "intentional" spins are illegal.

Did a few with a student the other day. 0 flap showed about 43. 15 flap showed about 41, and 30 flap was around 39. This was as reported by the dynon with a inflight idle of about 2000rpm.

    Default stalls

    Hi Eric,

Those numbers are about the same as mine. For all the CT's I imagine it is about the same give or take a MPH or so due to variances in the different airspeed indicators and techniques going into the stall.

    p.s.

When are you coming up for the trays and brakes? Give me a call.
