    Default Sport Training in DFW

    Hello,
I was referred to this site from a user over at aopa.org. I am trying to find an instructor and sport plane for training. I found a school in Denton, TX but was hoping to find something closer to where I live, in Allen, TX. I was told there are some active CFIs out of Addison (KADS) with sport planes. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

EDIT--Why is my profile language Dutch? I can't change it...

I don't know about Addison but Northwest Regional (52F) has a school with a couple SportStars. I used them to do an FAA Wings stage (in lieu of a flight review) 18 months ago and evaluate the SportStar.

I am based at ADS. I don't think there are another LSA besides myself and Opticsguy on the field.

52F should still have that pair of Evektors - they fly them a lot.

US Flight Academy at DTO is a big school and has some *****, I think.

Carol Walker down at Midway (JWY) instructs in a CT. They actually have a commercial glider operation down there now.

Not sure if anyone is flying LSA out of McKinney (TKI), but you might check.

If you to fly a CT, send me a PM.

    Default Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I am going to checkout the sport flight school in Denton and see what I can find in Ronoake (52f). The drive to both would be about 45 mins, not a big deal since it will be weekend training mostly.

I'm not sure which of the planes I will do training in, they have ***** at http://www.usflightacademy.com/iAirplaneSpecs.asp and Diamond DAs.

I've found the DA20 and Evektor to have similar qualities to the CT in terms of requiring rudder. I think the DA20 is closer and prefer it over the Evektor due to higher speed. If you are going dual, you can fly the DA20; you just can't solo it without a medical.

We can talk when you get a chance. I am a CT owner and am completing my sport training at US Flight Academy in Denton and my home airport is 52F. I can give you some in's and out's of the training and the school. In fact my CT is in the hangar there at the Academy temporarily, while I finish up the training.
