    Default Ready to Solo!!

Hello to everyone on the forum. I have been a fan of this forum since i became a student pilot approx. three months ago, but this will be my first post. I want to thank everyone for the great tips and tricks that make learning a little easier. When I first started we were using a CTSW and within a couple of hours in it the flight school (Leading Edge Flight Training in Bucyrus, Ohio Go Bucks) switched to the CTLS. Being so early in my training it was really hard for me to tell a difference between the two. All that i know is they have been a blast to learn to fly. Well anyway, the main reason for my post, I have been given the green light to solo. I figured I would share it with everyone on the forum seeing that in a way you guys have helped me get to this point. My flight instructor is planning on this coming Sunday to be the day. Oh yeah I currently have 13 hrs flight time, got a lot to learn yet. I feel comfortable, but two days out and already nervous. Thanks again to everyone.

Well, you beat me by one day! I have also been reading and learning a lot from this website. (Thanks, folks.) I just soloed for the first time today. Very exciting - I was too busy to think of being terrified until I was back on the ground and then it was too late. The shock of the boost in performance with 1 person vs two is amazing. Unfortunately, I was not in a CT - I am flying a RANS S6S Coyote II. Our challenge is a very short field with trees, barns, highway overpass, powerlines and hedge all on final - right up to the threshold. I loved the one set of practice landings I got to do at a paved 2400' strip. (What, NO flaps!?! That fast!?!)
