    Default New CTSW in Belgium

    Hi All,

I'm very proud to announce that I picked up a brand new CTSW this week.
The Belgian importer, an instructor and me drove to the Flight Design headquarter in Eggersdorf (east of Berlin) Germany to pick up the aircraft and the instructor and me flew it back one day later. I had the chance to speak to several representatives of the company and met the dealers from China and New Zealand.

The CTSW is operated in Belgium as microlight. I'm an A300 captain but not very familiar with microlights so I'm limiting myself to flying with an instructor until I am really familiar with the landings. The aircraft is currently based at the importer's airfield which has a 270 meters (that's only 900 ft!) grass strip. That's a challenge!
I will need more than a few hours to feel comfortable in this beauty. Later the aircraft will be based at an airfield with a 900 m (3000 ft) concrete runway.

The CTSW I bought has 2 Dynon panels, radio, transponder and Garmin 496 GPS, a parachute and comfort package.
... and last but not least a reinforced gear.
    Now only mastering those landings.

    Here are a few pictures.

Congratulations!!! You will have many happy hours.
Could you explain "....and last but not least a reinforced gear" to us. Is this something new for the CTsw???
Just think, you can fly your CT inside your A300 for practice...
    Enjoy the excitement....

    Default reinforced gear

    Tony,

It's probably the "Tundra" package. It's a little stronger then the smaller gear.

    Congratulations Capt:
Good Idea to fly till you fill confortable with your instructor. It took me about ten hour to fly into small fields (300m and below) and hi slope fields. Still working on my feets at slow airspeed. Even If I have the new CTLS (much more friendly with the gear). Have all the fun.

To keep the aircraft light, the CTSW Europe comes standard without a comfort package.

(See www.flightdesign.com then Configurator - CTSW Europe - Accessories)

This package includes items like parking brake, door locks, 12 V connector... and a reinforced gear. I believe the comfort package is standard in the US version.
The tundra wheels is another (separate) option.
The reinforced gear was a must for me as one day landing an Airbus 300 and the other day a CTSW... You understand that my flares in light aircraft are sometimes 'slightly high'. And my landings in the A300 have suddenly become 'positive'.

Hey Angel, I was in Madrid yesterday.

Just think, you can fly your CT inside your A300 for practice...
I think I could taxi the CTSW under the fuselage...
