Thread: A Sport Pilot With No Plane!

Hello all -- I've lurked here for close to one year now, and finally decided to join in the discussion. While I haven't had the pleasure of flying a CTSW or the new CTLS, I've admired the type for some time now -- it's one of precious few LSAs I feel stand their ground quite nicely against larger, four-place GA aircraft.

I recently obtained my sport pilot license, training on a Gobosh 700S in Florida. When I came back home to Albuquerque, New Mexico I discovered to my dismay the only business advertising an LSA for rent (a SportStar, which I also have some time in) actually isn't flying the plane right now... but still advertises it. Ironically, this business picked up the Evektor after their CTSW suffered a landing mishap, the details of which I believe are familiar to many posting here.

I guess this means I have to start saving my pennies in hopes of picking up a lightly used CTSW!

Rob, I would be happy to give you a hop in my CTSW sometime so you can see for yourself what it is all about. You're right...it is one of the few Light Sports that can be considered a capable multi-mission airplane, not just an around-the-patch toy. I am based at Double Eagle II.
