Default Hi CT friends in America!

    Hi CT-friends!
I have read in your infos that there will be a CT meeting in Mc Minville/Oregon - great! I have done a student exchange program with La Salle HS from 1986 till 2006 and I love Oregon. Last time I visited the Spruce Goose - this museum is so wonderful! Next time I come to Oregon I would like to contact CT-owners in Oregon.
My only problem wo far with the CT: the brakes kind of block for a while till they are free again and the heating could be better in winter time. Everything else is fine - the old motor gliders that I used to fly for decades are like concrete boxes - slow and heavy.
Over here I fly from Kassel-Calden airport in Nordhessen - the CT is so fast and easy - everything is within reach.
Fliegergruss from Wolfgang in Zierenberg / Germany
I have owned my 2004 CTSW since Aug 07 and I love flying this plane (airport Kassel-Calden). I am glad there is a forum where I can share my interest with other CT fliers - esp in America.

I own a CTSW like you, in central Spain, I have already 130 hrs.+ in it, and I simply love it.

    Hi Jose in Spain!
Thank you for your mail from Spain. When I was in El Beriel Airport (Gran Canaria) in Dec 2006 I saw a P96 doing touch and go landings in stormy weather - even during crosswind conditions. First I was worried - but the flite instructor told me later that they always fly in stormy weather.
I have flown 500 hrs total (gliders, motor gliders, ultralites) and 25 hrs on my CT. How is your experience with this great plane in stormy weather and during landings in crosswinds?
So far I haven´t had any problems - but I have also avoided flying in stormy weather. 15-20 knots wind was the maximum and I will slowly improve this to get used to more windy conditions.
    Greetings from Wolfgang in Zierenberg
P.S. we have spent almost all of our winter vacations on the Canary Islands - Lanzarote, La Palma, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura - it was great, esp Fuerte last winter

    Default Hi from Zierenberg

    Hi Angelitomon,
small world - El Berriel is a wonderful airfield - I flew with a C43 there 2 winters ago - but these winds are a real challenge.
