    Default Kill the scrolling text.

before long i am going to see the text scroll across the home page of this website 1 too many times and probably throw my laptop through my big screen tv or perhaps a window.

i don't even know what it says because i refuse to read it.

not that i am prejudiced against scrolling text

    Default moving text

    Ed,

Are you referring to the dates for the fly-in's that scroll across the top here? If so what's the problem please and thanks.

    yes roger, that's the text.

the intent of the scrolling is to add emphasis, the result is to dumb down the presentation.

our approach to web page design editing is to remove every component that bugs ed ( me ) and then go with it. animated gifs bug me almost as much as scrolling text.

alan's right, my ct is in the shop, sorry

[disclaimer] do not apply my standards to my website, it's design is highly reliant on seo and that dictates the content.

    Default Woodstock at Carson

    Ed,
Saw your yellow airplane in the hangar at Carson when I picked up 55LS from its annual on Saturday. Looked OK but a little forlorn in the middle of its "nose job" (gearbox was gone).

While in general agreement about dynamics on websites, this particular sliding display hasn't affected my blood pressure much. When I see it I always say....Gee, I had forgotten about that. And then I go and find my calendar and mark it again. So it has a certain usefulness for some of us you know with certain little memory problems.

    Cheers...
    Russ

    russ,

i can keep my bp in check with some emphasis added to the flyin info. as long as it doesn't scroll, flash, or move

saw 5LS when i dropped woodstock off and knew i knew the number couldn't place it.
