The following verbiage is throughout the CTSW Maintenance Manual, dated 25 04 2005: Examples: Paragraph 4.1.2.4, Level of Certification Required-Owner, or Paragraph 4.4.1.4 LSRMA, Task Specific: can be completed only by a responsible individual, which has received Flight Design Airplane Operation Training.
4 Questions: Does FD maintain records or a list of those that have completed this training so the owners know who can complete all these tasks? What exactly/specifically does this 'Operation Training consist of? Do A&Ps need whatever this training is to perform annual condition inspections and the specified tasks? Are there periodic classes or how else does FD provide this 'Airplane Operation Training--again whatever that is?
Answers to these questions and any additional interpretation of this verbage is appreciated.

an owner LSRM-A or A&P can perform the specific task in the maintenance manual any task not in the manual needs written instructions and approval from the manufacturer. When it comes to Rotax maintenance ony an individual with the specific Rotax training can perform the task. Even an oil change requires Rotax training Unless the specific aircraft manufacturer say different. Most all Light Sport manufacturers defer to Rotax,
I know it sounds a little crazy but thats the way it is

Doug, that verbage has been corrected in the nost recent manual. At one point there wer eonly 28 people in the US who had the required training with about 300 airplanes to service. Any A&P can do most task without any additional training, but a LSR-M must still have the Flight Design training. You must have the Rotax training to work on the engine. Tom
