    Default Tubes from Matco

Has anyone bought tubes from Matco recently. I believe the brand they sell is TIRTU and the tube I am particularly interested in buying is the:-
    TIRTU1566/90
    TUBE, 15X600X6 TR87 90 DEG STEM

Any information as to their country of manufacture and comments on duarability etc. would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

For your info this size tube is available from a company called Solid Service. I am sure they would have branch in WA. I bought my Tyres from them as well, the only tyres of the size you quoted that are not branded "not for Highway use". They have a good speed rating and are 6Ply..................David

    Hi Oz,

I have put these tubes in most Matco installations. I believe most are still lin place. The 6.00-6 tube size is actually a 17/6.00-6. There is a size 15/6.00-6 that is too small if you have the tundra tires. Then the smaller tubes are 4.00-6 or 14/4.00-4. If you are using tundra tires 6.00-6 then a great tire is the Monster thread through Desser. It can be hadf in a 6 or 8 ply. Most are using the 8 ply and there is a lot of nice thick rubber on the ground. No throns will punture them. Desser has a new set of tires for the small tire guys and it is an 8 ply. Nice and sturdy and some thick rubber on the ground. Thorns shouldn't be an issue for them either.
They have Michelin Airstop tubes from Aircraft Spruce. (Matco's use 90 degree stems)

Good to know that Matco has the 15/600-6 tubes with 90 deg stems. This would be perfect for those of us looking to upgrade from the 400-6 to a larger size without replacing the nose wheel.

David thanks for the tip regarding Solid Service Tyres....yes they do have a branch here in WA so I will contact them today.

Roger.....your comments regarding the tubes are absolutely correct as Matco just this morning advised me that the 15/6.00 - 6 would over inflate if used in the Tundra tyres. (see below) The Desser Monster treads sound like an excellent product....and exactly what we need with our conditions.

" The tube to use for the 6.00-6 is the TIRT800x6/7 (http://www.matcomfg.com/TUBE800X67-idv-3081-38.html ) It is an industrial tire. We currently use the Deli brand tube. The 15x600x6 will over inflate when used with the 6.00x6 tire."

    Hi Doug,

Matco does not have 15/6.00-6 tubes. They will not fit the standard 6.00-6 tire. You would need the 15/6.00-6 tire to go with that 15/6.00-6 tube. The standard 6.00-6 tire gets a 17/6.00-6 or 800x6/7 tube.

    Roger -

Thanks. I misunderstood one of the posts. I don't have 600-6 but 15/600-6. The only 90 deg 15/600-6 tubes I've found are very spendy.

    Hi Doug,

Most of the 15/6.00-6 are more costly than the standard stuff. It is considered an odd size.

Correct, 15/600-6 is an odd size and slightly more expensive. However, it is a small diameter increase over the 400-6 stock tires. Going to 600-6 adds another 2" more diameter, and reduces prop clearance.
