Wow! The flight continued without further incident! Must be the multiple load paths of the composite structure. That must be more specific to the aramid fibers than carbon. I always pictured a failure being more like a Formula 1 crash on TV (lots of little pieces). Remember the dealer who flew in the airshow (was it Italy? or Spain?) and the tail broke off during a high speed pass? Those guys exceeding the speed were probably very lucky they did not have the same thing happen. Please keep us updated if FD releases a new or revised SA when the ground testing has completed. I agree that this does not apply to LSA of 1320lb from my reading of the SA.

Nothing happens at FD. Now three birds are waiting for a solution. It seems, that FD has no idea, what it could be. The ground testing was completed four weeks ago and the report should take three weeks. That was one week ago. I think they have is a bigger problem that they thought first.

I am confident they will solve it. They solved my problem with the hortizontal stabiliizer flutter. It tooks four months, but it is fixed!

GlennM, I am currently getting the stabilator on my 2006 CTSW modified per FD SA-ASTM-CTSW-03. You indicate that you may have also had your CT's stabilator modified to correct any issues pertaining to this and I am wondering if you might share your experience with me? If you are able to send me a note at reh3335@yahoo.com, it would be appreciated.

FD reply after a lot of email................

    Dear Dimitri Paolacci,

    Thank you for your request!

Very sorry for delay with answering, It took some time to update and clarify
information with Technical Director of Flight Design in this case. And I
can assure you, that we are still working on the test. We have done ground
vibration testing, made the recommended changes to the aircraft, flown it
again and did not reach the Vne without another indication of slight
flutter. For this reason it was decided to get the very same aircraft again
back to the vibration testing and as you get tons of data, it takes some
more time to get this data back.

Now we are very close to the proper solution and working on the practical
    recommendations.

However, if you require additional assistance please do not hesitate to let
    me know.

    Thank you again,

    Best regards,
    Oles
