Default Noisy avionics cooling fan on Pilot Side 2006 CTSW Advanced Panel

The avionics cooling fan (mounted below panel) on my Pilot's side (2006 CTSW Advanced Panel) is intermittently noisy (bearing I'm sure) and needs replacement. Anyone have a part number or source? Thanks...

I'm not positive but I believe they are five inch "computer fans". I'd take it out and go over to your local computer shop and see if they aren't the same. Be sure to check the voltage, connection, etc. AND PLEASE let us know here if I'm wrong.

all mufin fans are not created equal. i put a temp one if from radio shack till i ordered an industrial quality fan that gave much more output and had better bearings. my high output fan is great but noisy enough to where i only run when I'm en-route, if the throttle is open I don't hear it.

This fan was very specifically chosen by Flight Design for things like flow, pressure, noise, power consumption, reliability etc.. and is not a generic computer fan. Using any other part without specific written authorization (LOA) from Flight Design will invalidate your SLSA airworthiness certificate.

Call Matt at Flight Design USA 860-963-7272 to get the part, or part number, or ask Arian for an LOA to use something different.

Thanks John... I appreciate the contact at FDUSA. I actually just got a chance to meet most of the guys at Oshkosh! I called, they squared me away... In case anyone needs a fan in the future, the part number is #C9999186 and the cost is $130.57 (now that is one high markup for a cooling fan) but hey, whats a guy to do!
