    Default Alternate to wheel fairings

I'm about feed up with the vibration and hassle of the stock CTSW wheel fairings. Quite a while ago I thought I saw a mention of an alternate fairing that just covered the brake rotor. I'd really like to have something like that. Anyone remember what it was and whether it's approved?

I wonder what's going on, because (knock on wood) I haven't had the first problem with vibration.

Looked for info on vibration in regards to the wheel fairings on the forum but didn't find anything. Could someone give a little info on this? I note that my front fairing is very loosed and can be moved around quite a lot when I inspect the front tire. The main fairings are pretty tight but they too seem to have the ability to move around. Can these cause vibration from being buffeted by prop wash?

I know of a CTSW where the owner removed the wheel fairings on the mains and used wheel covers (hubcaps). I understand that he might have gotten approval from FD to do this.

I haven't experienced any problems (knock on composite) but I'm no Princess and the Pea either.

Go up to 100 knots and look out the window at the pants. Mine quiver like a bowl of Jello. Even more annoying is a strong vibration on climbout that goes away as I level off or touch the brakes.

Mike, Bob is going to make me a pair. Just what I want.

Mine quiver like Jim's. Always have no matter what I do. The only difference with the pants off is I can look out the window and see the tire quivering instead of the pants.
