OK, so how high do these planes really go? I just had mine up to 14.6K surprisingly quickly over the sierras (yes, with O2) and it seemed to be able to still climb at 200fpm at 1200lbs gross weight. What is the real ceiling on these planes; does anyone know?

Heres a picture of our altimeter going over the Rockies following I-70, I believe we got up to 17,500MSL indicated using the Veal reported altimeter pressure.

We had to do 360s to gain altitude out a Veal and even at 17,500msl we were still able to squeeze a 150fpm climb with two 230lbs guys and just under max gross.

Needless to say we have been very happy with our CT and hope the next 880hrs are as good as the first

One in Canada exceeded 20,000 feet, but he has a variable pitch prop. Said it was still climbing at 200' per minute when he gave it up, due to the windows sounding like they were going to crack from the cold.

I would aim for the sun, but you have to go at night otherwise the plane will melt!

So, do we need a "Most fun at 20K feet!" patch?

I'd prefer one that says "0.66 tons of fun at 100' AGL".
