    100LL=25hrs. with a non-synthetic oil
    Auto fuel=50hrs.
    Some say with auto fuel and synthetic oil you can go as much as 100hrs, but I use the 50hr with synthetic oil for my chang times. Tom

    What would be the oil change interval on this fine craft? We are real old ladies about the 6 and change the oil every 50 hours. I believe that I read that the Rotax is both air cooled and water cooled? Does that mean that there is a shared cooling system for the oil and the engine? I ask because the plane seems to fly at high revs and it seems that it would generate lots of heat in a small space possibly shortening the life of the oil. I was surprised to hear about the water cooling.

    Not a shared cooling system with oil and water. Oil and water don't (or shouldn't mix) The water cooling is really water and air cooliing. Lots of info on prior threads about cooling in the CT, check them out! WF

    Sorry, feet, inches, sminches. I guess I should proof read before hitting send. No problems mixing mogas and avgas, but check out earlier threads on lead scavenger additives using avgas. I bring the empty cans when I am going to be renting a car, then I buy the plane some mogas to keep her happy if I can. WF

    the heads are liquid cooled and the cylinders are air cooled. the oil is cooled as well, flight design uses a stack of 2 radiators (dexcool 50/50 and oil)

    Didn't Rotax officially change the oil change interval to 50 hrs for 100LL usage and 100 hrs for unleaded in the latest update?

    They did make that change, but I personally don't feel it was a good move.

    Flying CTSW is just great 500 hrs + now 2100 hrs total

    Yesterday is history. Tommorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift that's why they call it the present.

    John,

    Thanks for the hands on demo. Looks like I could fit the clubs in one side and a suitcase in the other side and I am off to Bandon Dunes! Do you put a cover over the clubs so that they do not rattle around? My travel bag has a 'top' to it that keeps the clubs from spilling out. Great photos!
