    Default Best fuel cans

I think I found the ideal fuel cans for transporting Mogas to the CT. These things have 3 things to recommend them:
    1. At 5Gal, they are managable and snuggly insert vertically in the filler hole when being used so are easy to support.
    2. They empty all 5 in under 1 minute
    3. The vent is in the filler neck so when the tank is within 1.5in of filled, the gas can can't vent so you won't dump fuel all over the wing
    4. They fit perfectly in the luggage area

That looks pretty good. They seem to be popular with the motorcycle community. I just ordered a couple of them. They are much cheaper at http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1...&item=FTE_TJ1R than from the manufacturer. $34.99 each, and if you buy two or more, the shipping is free. The manufacturer was charging more plus charging $20 to ship two of them.

    Randy,
Will they fit through the baggage door on the LS?

I just ordered them this morning, based on the original post. I'll post an update with an answer to that question when they arrive.

Another option, take a look at these. Two handles and $17.95 + the shipping.

I like the no-spill no-drip features described by Chanik in the original post. Looking at other online comments re non-aviation applications, they seem to have similar positive reviews. If I have to get up on a ladder and pour fuel in, I like the positive on-off feature. That, or use a pump.

I use a mix of avgas and mogas to dilute the lead (in the avgas) and the ethanol (in the mogas) and generally just buy avgas when away from my home field. Having an easy to use 5 gallon container that doesn't require wing cleanup would be great - if it really works, and Chanik's report of actual experience was good enough for me to roll the dice on these. I'll let you know how they work out for me.

No ladder needed since they 'auto-shutoff' and insert into the filler hole. You can hear when the tank is almost full because the air vent hissing and gas 'glugging' stops. Only support needed is just for the last gallon. below that, the jug isn't heavy enough to depress the spring. They fit readily enouhg in the luggage door of the SW so I think the LS is the same door.

These are the fuel cans I use. They flat pack and have an inbuilt nozzle. They are quite expensive (approx. US$170) however are useful as they take up no space in the luggage compartment. (they hold 20L or approx 5 US gallons)

How do you guys resolve the static issue with plastic fuel containers? RH is generally below 30- percent here and often less than 10- percent.
