Aoi/poh
While the list of differences between LSA and certified is long, one of the more noticeable is the lack of content in the AOI. The AOI for the CTSW is no exception. Does anyone know what the rules are with regards to content and who specifies (ASTM or FAA).
Also, I have noticed that the AOI for the CTLS is a big improvement and contains some of the information that I would have expected in all AOI's, including the CTSW. To that end, does anyone know if the charts that are on the CTLS AOI (Take off Distance, Performance, Glider, etc.) are available for the CTSW?

Yes your right the CTsw AOI (pamplet) leaves a lot to be desired. The CTLS one is a little better overall with a few performance charts and better system descriptions. I teach in a CTsw so it was important to provide my students with some sort of performance charts, so my solution was to use the takeoff performance from the CTLS manual which I think is conservative for the CTsw. I built my own climb charts based on performance data I have been capturing the last 300hr as well as cruise performance for the typical altitudes we fly. Using these my students can perform the required dead reckoning calculations well within the limits of the PTS and have some sort of documents that resemble a performance section to show the examiner. Id be happy to send you what I have, its based on my aircraft and is in no way anything offical or approved by Flight Design, but it works for me (for reference only of course).
I don't know the real answer for your first question, but I would assume there are requirements stated in the ASTM regarding AOI's.
