Default Proper way to push/pull CTSW on ramp?

When our CTSW was delivered we were told we could push/pull the airplane by holding onto the inside of the prop (closet to the spinner) and pushing or pulling. Is that alright - I read somewhere that you should not use the prop to move an airplane. We also push down on the tail boom to lift the nose to turn it, but that doesn't always work well when having to move it up an incline. Your opinions and practices please.

Pushing/pulling on the prop is what I was taught - and what I've always done. Actually, I tend to pull it forward by the prop and pull it backward by the tail.

I pull by the tail and will push on the fuselage by the BRS or on the door frame, using the rudder pedals. Pulling by the tail allows you to get the nosewheel up as well.

I usually handle our CTsw from the tail area giving it a bear hug around the fuse ahead of the stab. Make sure you grab it from underneath as well when your pulling it backwards this way, I once dropped the ventral to the ground when I was pulling backwards into our hanger and the mains hit a small uneven area in some gravel. No damage but that first scuff in a new plane is a painful one! If someone is helping me I have them push from the wing root inboard of the flap at the fuselage fillet area or from the leading edge wingroot at the turbulator strip.

Be carefull when pushing backwards, espically by the prop. If you push the servo tab into something a lot of damage can happen.

I am sure we will soon need some sort of sticker telling us not to push via the prop when the prop is turning.

    Thumbs up Push / Pull

I used to pull by the prop and push by the prop or vertical stabilizer. Then I saw my repairman use the method that a few of the other guys use. One hand on the jamb of the door and one on the rudder pedals for steering. It works better for me.
