I got an interesting email today from Bob Howe who runs Dorr Aviation the aviation lenders. He had some very interesting things to say about the financing environment we find ourselves in. I thought what he had to say about the difficulties buying an aircraft built prior to 1980 were particularly interesting as was his comment about the difficulty in finding a lender for sub 100K purchases.
Not only are the manufactures like FD facing the headwinds of lessened consumer spending, they have the additional challenge of getting money for the folks that would actually like to buy an aircraft.
Give it a read if you would like, just another insight into this brave new world.
