    Default The LSA show

I'm doing the "hurry up and wait" thing at airport in Florida after attending the LSA show in Sebring. I enjoy the show and I'm always impressed by the FD team and it's commitment to their aircraft as well as to the industry.

There's not much new to report probably due to the economic situation. The big thing at the FD booth was the new LS interior and the new Dynon stuff which they had installed in an LS.

Piper of course showed there new LSA - uses the Rotax which is nice. The Fly Catcher was there but it seems like it doesn't generate the attention it use to. The ***** continues to draw attention due to it's advertising campaign but doesn't seem to get much kudos from the folks that fly one.

www.ctflyer.com had a booth at the show which I manned of course. It was fun putting faces with names and even more fun talking with members face to face.

In listening, watching and observing I can assure you that the FD gang is always on their toes when it comes to the aircraft. I guess I might be a little bias (do you think!!) but there goal is perfection.

All for now. Any questions about the planes, etc. please email, leave a post or call.

Roger...it was a pleasure meeting you at the booth on Thursday. I enjoyed getting more time to check out the CTLS at the show....I sat in it several timess and went "varoom...varoom" I didn't see a whole lot new at the show since last year. What really made me chuckle was the display, which you could NOT sit in to "try it for size". Like who would bring a plane for display to help you sell your wares, but then not let anyone sit in it. Doesn't make sense to me. Anyway..it was a nice day and I particularly was impressed by the sales rep Paul at the CT display....he's very knowledgable and a real personal guy....had I had the money..I would have bought right then and there. Blue Skies.

Regretably we have been grounded up here in southwest wisconsin by a 10 day ground fog. We had big plans to attend and spend some quality time in the Florida sun. This fog was a little to thick to wish we could have a "lite ifr" CT. that said, is there any news on that ruling coming out of the show?

What about ifr in the MC. I heard Someone is coming out with a very low voltage heated pitot tube and I know you can get a certified rotax so what else would it take. Is the certification itself the issue? I guess you would need a second com also, right? I know the fact that there is no mesh in the composite planes leaves a lightning strike question. The Dynon 120 wouldnt pass muster either I would bet, but something could be installed that is.

    Hey Roger!

Glad you got to go to the Sebring show, sure wish I could have gone this year too, but it was not to be.
As I recall, CTFlyer folks had a great booth last year, I thought they were very welcoming and friendly. Great product too of course!

It was nice meeting you on Saturday. I hope we can get some CTs to visit Orlando in the coming years. I know of no CTs near my home airport in Titusville. I have to fly places with a Mooney and I am always last to arrive. There is plenty to do for a fly-in: Valiant Air Command Museum, Cape Kennedy tours, Disney, parachute jumping, Fantasy of Flight. Plenty of places to fly to: Saint Augustine, the Keys, Spruce Creek Fly-in community, etc.

Dynon makes a heated pitot that is fairly low draw. It uses a thermostat and doesn't just pump 250W into the pitot all the time.

190 hours in the CT and have loved every one.
