    Default New CTLS interior

Here are some interior shots of the updated CTLS being shown at Sebring. Notice the carpet on the floor. Different interior color. And of course the New Dynon 10 inchers!!

Roger, Could you find out if the 10" panels (I assume are Sky view) can be retrofittable to an already existing CTLS please? Also, will they be offering a "rebate" for existing Dynon owners like they have in the past?

    Thanks,

    John

    John,

Yes you can put the 10" screens in an LS but you will need a new console as well. I assume that will be fairly expensive. BUT - while I think the 10 inches are gorgeous I think they are way to big for the CT. I was excited about them until I got to see them up front and personal. I'll be doing the 7 inch conversion in mine. There is very little modification to the panel - they fit where the 100 and 120 currently are.

It's interesting stuff. The panels are much smaller from front to back then the current 100 and 120. They also don't need the fans running below them. There are a couple of extra modules to install. One in the wing in back of the current pitot tube and one in the console for the engine wiring.

Auto pilot is probably another six months off - in fact I think I'd wait six months at least before buying the stuff. There are many upgrades in the works.

The trade in goes until the end of the year.

I don't think you want to be a "guinea pig" on this one. Wait until you can find an avionics shop that has done one or two.

Any more questions - give me a call or email.

Why would you want 10 inch screens? Is there more info displayed other than the same options on the 120. The 120 is too big in my opinion to use the whole thing for an artificial horizon. We allways split the screen to keep the horizon somewhat square, and its nice having the heading reference right there too. Maybe we just got used to flying that way, but i dont like the whole screen used for horizon. I cant imagine a 10 inch screen used that way. Its probably just what you get comfortable with. Does everybody else fly with a split screen?

The reason is I'm used to flying with a Garmin G1000 which had 10" screens and it would also make it easier for my wife to see my screen from her side of the cockpit. Remember, there's also a lot more information available for the PFD on the SkyView's including 3D and split screen mapping with terrain. That way you can run the 696 using weather/traffic and the SkyView for terrain, etc.
To each his own, I guess...
