Has anyone used the manual flap setting procedure listed in the AOI to go past the -6 US LSA limit? If so, what was the resulting flap setting and change in flight performance?

such a change would take your SLSA out of certification. it would buy you a few knots and create more pitch change when you went from zero to -? or -? to zero, also would require more rudder trim
Not to mention any insurance you have would be worthless.

hate to disagree with alan, but your insurance would be worh more than zero. how much more? that would be an undetermined variable
Ed,
You might be right, all depends on the Insurance Company and how hard they look for a way out of covering the claim. I guess if it was sitting on the ramp and got damaged it would be harder to deny coverage.
Worse yet, what if there was a huge Liability claim, I would hate to be in that situation.
My policy specifies that my CT is not covered if it is out of certification.
