Christmas day included a flight from Van Nuys, CA to Mammoth / Yosemite Airport at Mammoth Lakes, CA. With 30kts of headwind at our usual altitude we decided to fly near the ground, under the wind.

As we approached Mojave we flew over a race track, Willow Springs I think.

North of Mojave we got a good view of Red Rock Canyon.

The Owens dry lake is slowly being watered to minimize air polution.

Normally I fly over the Sierra but with the cold temps and a big headwind aloft we got the low view.

Almost home, getting cold now.

California is a beautiful place to fly, especially light sport.

Thanks for sharing Ed. I hope we told you that you're leading "tours" over your area during the May Fly-In...

That's good -- we like laughter and of course you know it was Roger L's idea.

    Merry Christmas Ed and Erin,

If Roger H. said it was my idea that should send up a red flag right away!
