FD 696 Blanket Approval Letter
Hello:
Its been a while since I post. I have installed the Garmin 695 in my ctls a few month a go. I just love it but the information of towns , citys, rivers, etc etc in not as accurate as the 496 i have as back up.
Do anyone knows if its posible to put the same information that I have in the 496 in the 695? Thank you
You may have it "decluttered". I found out about this by accident. I'm not at my manual but it has something to do with holding down the clear button and it will give you different levels of information on the screen. I was flying between a bunch of MOA's and a prohibited and hit the clear button holding it down by accident. All of a sudden, all the towns, MOA's, prohibited zones, etc disappeared!! I finally figured it out. Just look in the manual, it should mention how to change that setting. Hope this helps, John

696 or 695?
I'm not sure what all the features are in the 696, but I don't see why not. You would have to do it by hand.
You must have a setting wrong and it's probably the clutter level. The 696 has lots more info then the 496.
By the way - anyone interested in my 496 - it's for sale. Just picked up the 550 and need to move the 496 out the door.

Roger H,
Why a 550? What happened to the 696?
Thank you all. I will check next time I fly. I have read the manual, know already about the decluter from the 496. I was thinking that since the 496 has the mapsouerce roads europe it will be the diference. Maybe the 696 can get more information through an sd card.
Roger Lee,
You gotta have a backup!
