    Default 696 install

Just got the bird back yesterday after the 696 install. I was nervous but they did a great job. Greg Howard at Aero Maintenance, Pearson Field in Vancouver WA did the work. A big thanks needs to goto John at Sebring for wiring diagrams, parts, etc. as well.

Interesting note: the carb and cabin heat seem to be "more" sturdier when pulled on - who knows!

Eat your heart out Roger L!!!

Default Oh, you are rubbing it in BIG TIME

Roger, you are rubbing it in big time, especially to us who have an older steam gauge panel. Congratulations, really looks great and I am so jealous. Idaspud

You got a great looking job there. Now make sure you have someone with you for the first 10 hrs to look outside while you play with your new toy. Just kidding, but its got so many features you have to force yourself to stop messing with it and look outside once in a while. Safe flying.

Cool! Was the new part for the carb heat / cabin heat pull from Flight Design?

    Default flight design part

Yes, it's the part from FD. I think they glue it - my guy used some small bolts. You can see them in the picture. He felt that was better. The pulls actually feel "sturdier". So far so good.

    Hey Roger,

I'm telling your wife you just spent her birthday, anniversary and X-mas present money. Going to be a slim year for her. Better sleep with one eye open.

What kind of paperwork did you need from Flight Design.
I want this in my bird.

    Default Paperwork?

I'd work back thru your dealer. If not "headquarters" should be able to help you out. www.flightdesignusa.com

    Default 696

    Ron,

All you will need to do is send in a letter of approval for the work since FD is OK with installing these units. It needs to be logged in your book, too.

Oh yeah I almost forgot the most important issues. Cough up the bucks. PM someone and get the final bill for the complete install.

Just curious, what is a full 696 install running? $3750 with the unit?
