When you crank the engine, does the Dynon power off?
Jim,
I don't think it does but that might be a question to ask on the Dynon forum. The Dynon's are not effected by engine off's and on's like some other electronics are. The 120 comes on with the battery switch - the 100 with the avionics master. I guess a way to tell might be to push in the battery switch, wait for the 120 to light up then turn the ignition key to sell if the 120 turns the screen off or not.
Hope that helps some....
The reason I asked is because we installed an EIFS D100 in my plane and did the flight test a couple of days ago. The D100 is powered from the existing EIFS breaker and wiring. When we cranked the engine, the D100 powered down and we lost our place in the checklist. I'd like to know how the factory wiring works and see if we should change it so it remains powered up while cranking. I guess I'll call John Dunham tomorrow.

Ours powers-up with the battery on. However, shuts down during 'crank' and returns to the start 'boot' screen. I assume some type of buss disconnect while starting to deliver max current, etc...

Our D100 & D120 powers up prior to start as I use the checklists. During cranking & start everything stays powered with no disruption to the EFIS or EMS.
Ok, one powers down when cranking and the other stays on. I'm thinking I'd like mine to stay on.
The 120 shuts off momentarily and then comes back on.
