    Default Flap Control Circuit board

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question but here goes.

It has been several months since I started reworking my dash and as the memory fades and the digital camera wasn't used enough I find myself scratching my head trying to remember the pin connections on the Circuit board for the Flaps .

There are 3 bare pins on the left side of the circuit board and for the life of me I can't rememeber if there was a small plug that attached to it . If so I am not seeing it in the wiring harness without just about pulling the whole dash out again.

Does any body know if there is supposed to be another plug or does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Flap Control system?

    Thanks,

    Peter

    Default Extra plugin

    Hi Peter,

    No need to worry Mate!
The plug-in is a switch attachment point if you wanted or needed to adjust your flaps. There is nothing in the dash under normal operations that it connects to. You should have in a little baggy of little switches with white wires that you got when you bought the plane. One is a rocker type switch and the other is a limit switch with a chromed colored arm hanging off of it to program the circuit board. These are for maint and or flap adjustments only.

    Default Flap control board

    Greetings Peter,

The pin connector you circled is for setting flap positions. It is for maintenance use only.

    Happy Holidays!

    Hi Roger and JS.

Thanks for clearing that up , I really couldn't remember (or see) such a small plug. Since re installing my dash I just have just not been able to get the flaps to work at all. Some time ago I found a small Microchip floating around in the Fuselage tunnel which I guess must have become dislodged when I removed the Instrument cluster as the REALLY STUPID design sees the circuit board drop down behind the Carbon Fibre frame of the Dash making it a juggling act to clear the heat control knobs at the top of the panel while avoiding contacting the Circuit board at the bottom. So I moved it to a safer and higher visibilty position . Anyway I replaced the Chip just below the 3 digit display and ordered another just in case it had been damaged.

You are correct originally there were 2 bundles of white wires with bullet connectors about 6 in one group ( 3 may have "doubled back" to another connector) and 8 in another. I haven't seen any rocker switch or a limit switch with a chrome coloured arm hanging off it- Maybe I need to go and have another look .

Looking to tidy things up and expedite R & R I transferred the wires one at a time to a 27 pin Utilux Plug leaving the 3 "doubled back" terminals with their Bullet connections just hanging to the side of the Utilux Plug ( as seen in the original post) assuming they were for maintainence checks. Maybe they needed to be plugged in as well as I see in another photo what appears to be 2 loose Bullet connections, perhaps there is a 3rd hiding near by?

    Thanks Again,

    Peter

    Default Bullet connectors

The three "loose" bullet connectors are for the switch that is plugged into them when adjusting and re-programing the flaps.

It came with the "limit' switch that plugs in to the connector that you have circled, it takes both switches to adjust the flap settings.

If the circuit board has been disconnected from power for long period would the flaps need to be reprogramed for them to work ?

    Cheers Mike

    Default Flaps

No, not having power to them should not effect them.

Don't know about that AW-Not having power seems to have made them quite lazy as they don't seem to want to wake up despite have a good power supply (from the battery CB) and earth.

I am going back over the plug for about the 5th time trying to recheck the terminals BUT the tags on them are worn and extremely difficult to read - Oh for the simplicity of colour coding.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the flap control system?
Of the 8 main terminals they seem to be

    ,,+"
    5 or S
    ln Down??
    UP
    R-
    Ln UP???
    ,,-''
    Down

Unfortunately they are ambiguous on one side and pretty much illegible on the other hence the dilemna.

    Any suggestions??

    Peter
