Hmmmm .... if the airplane is not certified (or approved in the operating limitations for LSA and Experimentals) for IFR flight, making it IFR equipped is easy and can be done now. An airplane does not have to be IFR certified or even have all IFR required equipment for IFR training.
If IFR approval is not forthcoming, this sounds like a marketing exercise.
