Roger, thanks for making all this go so smoothly.
I'll check in to whether we can host at Bozeman, MT, but I think we could do it.
190 hours in the CT and have loved every one.
I had a great conversation with the President of the Cirrus Pilots and Owners Association this morning. He gave me some great ideas and insight to pilot/owner fly-ins - I walked away with enthusiasm for another round and great improvements. So, if you'd like to come here again, let me know so I can get started!!
I'd also like to THANK all that attended the first get together - without you all putting forth the effort to get here it would have been meaningless. I had a blast and made some really great new friends.
THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR COMING!

I think the CT Fly-In at McMinnville was fantastic, thank you very much Roger for making this such a wonderful and fun time. It was very obvious that you spent a lot of time and effort to make this such a sucessful event. I would be more than happy to attend the Fly-In in McMinnville again next year.
I would also be happy to host the event at Columbia, (O22) if the group wants it there. We have a grass and paved strip, campgrounds with hot showers and a nice clubhouse with a full kitchen and a large BBQ grill outside. We also have some fun places to fly for breakfast and a real neat Winery, (Ironstone) close by to visit. Your hospitality would be hard to match Roger but if the group wants it closer to the south I think it would be a good location.
Thank you Tom P. Oliver, John and Tom Dunham for attending !

I think the 2008 fly-in should be closer to the midwest next time. It's hard to fly from Iowa to Oregon.![]()
That's what we want - suggestions.
I certainly would like to see it move around. I'm willing to host it one more time for a couple of reasons - the great amount of fun we had and to fine tune it after this expereience making future venues succesfull each time.

I am in Nampa Idaho, flew with Harold (in his CT) to my grass strip-ID35, (for the first time) this AM, was great to fly with a real Back Country Pilot, he did a great job. I can now tell you that the CT works very well as a back country airplane.
I was just on the phone checking on my Mother and she asked me how I liked the McMinnville Fly-In and the Oregon area.
It made me realize just how much I liked McMinnville and the surrounding area, I really like all the things there are to do and the surrounding area. It would sure be fun to fly to one of the airports next to the ocean next year.
I am open to where we have the 2008 Fly-In, that said I think we should give some serious thought to having it at McMinnvile again next year. This first Fly-In was a learning experience for all and I know Roger would love to do it one more time. He was such a great host and had such fun places for us to go, (especially some of the dinners). Many of us arrived on Wed, which made it worth the extra time it took to get there.
Let's make a decision on next years Fly-In location soon, so that we can start making plans now.

Roger,
I want to say thanks again to you and your lovely wife, for all of the effort you guys put in to making the Fly-In so much fun. I thought McMinnville was a fantastic place for the event, and will likely fly in again, whether for a fly-in, or just for some down time. Please pass on my regards and sincere thanks again to the crew at Cirrus Aviation, McMinnville Airport, Bistro Maison, the Evergreen Aviation Museum, and those who assisted at our farewell dinner. Every one of them provided first class service and food, and contributed heavily to the enjoyment factor.
Yeah McMinnville!!!!
The flying around the area is pretty nice also.
I enjoyed meeting all of the CT flyers and Flight Design personnel, who came from everywhere. We have a great bunch of people associated with our aircraft!

i'm happy with mcminnville because it gives me a chance to visit my family in portland.
i know roger got a lot of good ideas form the cirrus owners group guy and it might be good to know what they are because i feel a lot of ideas growing inside of me and don't want to re-invent the wheel, or fly-in.
one issue that comes to mind is strategy in dealing with oregon's weather vfr. for instance the columbia river gorge can offer a vfr window but most convienent if you are coming from the east.
on saterday i did some exporing to help me understand the way the weather was laying against the cascades and got the sense that mountain obscuration was a big issue so using the first window i encountered turned out to be a good idea.
a bit of local knowledge would be great to share.
England would be good.... Shropshire has some lovely airfields.... & let's see if our American pilots can fly over the pole![]()
It's only fair as we missed out on the USA fly in
