    Default fly-in - return flight

roger heller did a great job hosting the fly-in.

    no mis-haps

yossi was "da man" flying his ctsw from new your city. he's a good soul that affects many of us in a positive way.

weather was clear, flying was great, lots of crosswind landings on thursday and friday, saterday was perfect.

the oregon scenery in weather like this made the trip worth while.

we got to spend time with ct-friends, funny how much of a bond there is between us.

i flew right seat a lot, first with alan wallace who is a solid pilot, and more with yossi who has the skills of a high time pilot, even if he doesn't know it yet.

my face is a little sore from so much smiling and laughing, something about flying in a gaggle of ct's with the occasional mistake that makes it so much fun. we all know that go-arounds are the sign of a smart pilot but that doesn't keep the group from giveing the smart pilot a hard time. guess it doesn't sound as funny as it really is.

next year is idaho and that might mean a longer flight for more owners (shorter for some) but i recommend attending if you can.

Many thanks to Roger H. and wife Liz for being such fantastic hosts for us Canucks. We (we came down in Paul Rigon's CT) arrived back in High River, Alberta Saturday afternoon after flying for about five and a half hours. Thanks to Orson and Bob for leading us around Portland and up the Columbia River on the way home. Smooth flight home, the Oh Sh&* bar hardly got any use at all. We crossed the Rockies at 11,500 feet over Waterton/Glacier National Parks. Worst part of the ride was last 30 minutes into High River where we bounced our way in with speed reduced to 80 IAS. All in all a fantastic trip where we were able to put faces to the many posts. We will be back for the next one!
